I have never seen stronger bonded cats, than Buddy and Frankie. These two cats make me melt every time I come to their room. If they are napping, they are hugging! We had two sister cats, and while they slept together or on top of each other, they did not fall asleep hugging. Maybe when they were kittens are new in our home, but as they grew they became independent and wanted their own space. Buddy and Frankie, well these two are another story.
How to have bonded cats?
In my opinion, there is no magical recipe for bonding cats, they either find one another or they don’t. They can grow up in the same litter and love each other or hate each other. My mom had a cat which was given to her by her friend. The sister would constantly beat the brother up because she was the first in the house. If you are going to adopt a cat, keep in mind that if you have a female cat and bring in a male, the same could happen. I recently learned that if you have a male cat first in the house, you can bring another male or female. But if there is a female cat in the house first, she will fight tooth and nail to keep her hierarchy.
It took a while for Batman to win over Baby, but now they are never too far from one another. Even when he annoys her, he still stands there and follows her around like a love sick puppy. I guess in the feral community, you can eventually win the love of your colony/other cats.
Bonded Cats; Brothers for life!
As for Buddy and Frankie, their love is unreal! I hope it stays that way until the end of times, and over into the Rainbow Bridge. In their case, Buddy was here first. He was rescued and all alone in his apartment. He gave us so much love! We could not believe that a cat could be so loving as he was. Almost a year later, Frankie came along. He came into the house acting like he lives here, ran to Buddy’s food bowl and ate everything. Buddy just followed him around, sniffing his butt. I was amazed at how quickly they became best friends!

Their bond has grown more over time and they sleep hugging each other. If they are not playing, looking at birds, or being naughty (Frankie) while Buddy watches, they are napping. Every nap with these two is precious and adorable. Nuzzled together, I stare and wonder if one of them can breathe, while they dream peacefully. They will bathe each other then fight over who gets to lay down first, and then just as quickly their eyes close and they are in lala land.
Do you have bonded cats? Are they siblings from the same litter or adopted siblings?
